After years of checking E-types by myself, and discovering that there are a lot of questionable cars out there, I came to the conclusion that I needed an expert to guide me. Via Google and YouTube I came across Maikel, who I contacted via email & afterwards we communicated via WhatsApp. We discussed potential options and have done several car inspections together in different countries . I could right away tell that my knowledge was severely lacking & that trying to purchase an E-type on my own could be a costly mistake. Recognising original vs after market parts, judging the condition of the car, getting an independent estimate of how much more money a car would require on top of the purchase price etc… are just a few reasons why I would already recommend hiring Maikel. Besides that, his network proved itself by finding my dream car via channels I would have not founded myself. I also have a subscription on his website, which means I can ask specific questions and can get personalised help when needed. All in all, I believe I actually saved money by hiring Maikel, as I avoided an expensive purchase & instead bought the right car at the right price.

Maikel helped us visit 3 candidates in the Spring of 2024 in the Eastern half of the US. He was instrumental in detecting the most original specimen versus one that looked superb but had too many issues with after-market parts and huge amounts of Bondo all over. His mission also included the establishment of a long list of items in need of fixing and/or restoration. Maikel advised the restoration crew on how to implement some restoration steps in the most original set up possible. In conclusion, Maikel helped us make the best choice, avoid a huge misinterpretation of a beautiful opalescent blue 1962 OTS that was "too good to be true" (and expensive: $189,000) and guide us in the right direction. We consult with Maikel from time to time on key items such as detecting another candidate (FHC) or to provide advice on some parts or on how to restore originality to an unwanted previous situation, for example a paint job that masked some key original features. The "investment" in Maikel's services is, for us, a way to go in the right direction, and avoid buying a candidate that would end up being costing us far more in fixing, grief, lost time and lost opportunity/value.
